Iskandar
Why invest in Iskandar / JB
Iskandar Malaysia is a large-scale economic development plan announced by the Malaysian government in 2006 to be implemented in the southern region of Johor. In addition to economic development, Iskandar is also known as the Education City of Malaysia. Below I will illustrate three points: Why invest in Iskandar?
- With Singapore, it is described as a special economic zone like Shenzhen to Hong Kong. This special economic zone is located at the southernmost tip of Malaysia, next to the busy international transportation line of the Malacca Strait. Together with Singapore and Batam, Indonesia, it forms a highly complementary economic growth triangle.
- The special zone covers an area of 2,217 square kilometers, equivalent to 2.5 Singapore, and has logistics facilities such as airports and ports. It only takes 50 minutes from Iskandar to Singapore. When the Malaysia-Singapore high-speed rail is opened to traffic in 2026, traffic will be more convenient and the distance between the two sides of the strait will be closed. As we all know, the cost of living in Singapore is the most expensive in the world, and the house price is several times that of Iskandar; therefore, many Singaporeans or locals working in Singapore will choose to work in Singapore and return to live in Iskandar! So Iskandar has also been crowned with the nickname of the back garden of New Kapil!
- Iskandar Princess City in Johor Bahru can be called the Edu City of Malaysia. It is home to 7 tertiary institutions and 2 international schools. Nearly a quarter of the students are foreign students. Most of the colleges and universities here are branches of foreign universities. The courses and teaching are similar to those of foreign countries, but the tuition fees are much lower than that of studying abroad. It has gradually developed into a destination for foreign students to study abroad. Edu City (Edu City) is part of the Iskandar Special Zone of Johor, which has gradually grown from nothing in the past ten years. After planning, the infrastructure here is quite complete. At present, many well-known foreign universities have established branch campuses here.
